Christmas 2004 - The Gathering of the Drunkards

Xmas Pissup, Take ONE!.

With all of my age old friends scattered around the globe, it's not often that we all come together for a night of booze induced foolishness. Ryan and Sean have moved to Toronto, Lach works in London, England and Peter abides in Saskatchewan. It's not often that fate finds us all in the same city, but thankfully the holidays manage to pull us all together every year, and we make a point of having a couple of nights out.

This year, the plan was to have one "warm up" night to get us back up to speed (on December 26th) and then a final blowout (on the 28th) that was to be so epic it would last us a year until the next one. Well, the training wheels fell off the first night pretty quick, and the "big grand pissup" that we planned fizzeled out earlier than expected, but both nights still were a good time. Here's a couple of photos.... below is the first evening, December 26th.

The night begins at the SteamWorks brew-pub with random feats of strength. Peter clobbered
Lach in arm wrestling, and also in the "yell at random patrons" category. The staff were
only too happy to see us leave.

Oh good, the tequila shots are already beginning to pile up. Here we go.

Outside, we move locations and head to the Bourbon St. Cafe on Cordova.

Look at the damage we're causing here! I'm getting pretty sloshed, this was supposed to
be a photo of Gio.

These two clowns are already looking a little worse for wear.

With all this comedy in one room, Gio usually spends half the time laughing, which means he
doesn't usually get as drunk as us.

Lach, however, has NO problem getting drunk. Look at this. What a wretch.
"look here, i have something very important to discuss. No, seriously,
shut up and listen... to me".

Ryan can't hold his liquor, literally. It's all over his shirt.

Chris thinks this is all a little much.

Ok fellas! Smile for the photo... ok, seriously guys, can we at least PRETEND we're having fun?

....that's better.

With last call come and gone, we roll home to the Tiki Bar on Abbot and continue the evening.

Look at this kid. When Ryan gets drunk, his eyes get sleepy. He's hopeless!

Hello, North Shore Taxi? Come take my ass home. I've had enough of this!
